The founder and theater director of the Papageno Musiktheater Frankfurt,
Hans-Dieter Maienschein, staged the LIVERPOOL ORATORIO in 2011
with great success for the first time in his theater at the Palmengarten
with the personal permission of Sir Paul McCartney and Carl Davis.
A work that shows sound images in an extraordinary abundance:
From the single voice to the powerful choir,
from the children's song to the church sound -
sometimes almost musical, sometimes a little folk,
sometimes the full power of classical instruments,
sometimes violin and cello alone.
The story is told in eight stations from a life that McCartney has given autobiographical features. The whole work is pervaded by man's longing
for security and a life in harmony and love, supported by mutual respect
and tolerance. So the oratorio ends with the important and more current message than ever: "Live in peace together".
The anniversary concert (20 years of Papageno Musiktheater)
will be performed in English at the Alte Oper Frankfurt
with over 200 participants.
Scenes from the production, embodied by two young mimes
- previously filmed by Screen Land Film -
will be presented on a big screen parallel to the concert.
